Selling your home and need storage of your items in Lancaster?

Moving home is stressful enough but I had the added stress of having to store some items!

I had to figure out:

  • Where do I store my items?
  • How does storage work?
  • What cost is involved?

These were just some aspects to think about and arrange. Where do I find the time? Where do I start?

Deep breath here goes.

Lots of phone calls later, I found my answers. Hopefully you will find them useful*:

Armadillo Storage

Phil Baxter, White Lund Industrial Estate, Lancaster.

Phil informed me their costs depend on the size of the storage unit you need. If you want a 75sq foot unit it would cost £39 per week including VAT.

They have other sized storage units so weekly prices vary.

Armadillo also have an opening offer of your first 4 weeks at half price.

The initial cost required is one week’s deposit, which is refundable on vacation of the unit. Upon setting up there is also a fee for goods insurance, which is set up at the same time. This is based on the value of the goods stored, for an average replacement of £5000 this would cost you £6 per week.

You can load your own unit or get your removals company to fill it for you. There is no further cost to access your unit, you can access it at any time.

There is a 7 day notice period to stop use of the storage unit.
